1966 Fender Jazz Master 3-Tone Sunburst – All Original
Vintage 1966 Fender Jazz Master 3-Tone Sunburst. All Original – OSHC
This awesomely played and original early 1966 Jazz Master (13 FEB 66B stamped on the Neck heel) features a gorgeous, classic and stunning 3-Tone Sunburst original nitrocellulose lacquer finish. It’s definitely one of these really cool ones, with some of the coolest features from the pre-CBS era, and transitional things such as the bound neck with dots (not block inlays), a typical Quartersawn Maple with a beautiful solid dark Brazilian rosewood fretboard.
Weighting 8.0 Lbs, which means lightweight for a Jazz Master. As you can see there’s some honest wear, with the typical “checking” and wear on the arm rest. Bound dark Brazilian rosewood fretboard, single line Kluson Deluxe tuners and F neck plate with early CBS Serial # 107XXX.

The neck is perfectly straight, the pocket is super tight (as it should) and the truss rod works perfectly smooth. TheNeck thickness at 1st fret is .790″ – and at 12th fret is .870″. Nut Width is 1.65″ (42mm). Frets are original and I think they still have plenty of life. It has been set with a fresh set of Ernie Ball Nickel 10 – 46 and it really plays like a dream without any issues.
Original single coils pickups, switches, pots and jack. Volume and Tone pots shows 10th week of ’66. There are no re-routings at all.
Everything is 100% original. Beautiful Nitrocellulose tortoise shell like the ones on those years (Very red), they seem to shrink a little bit, but this one is in entirely perfect shape without any cracks.
Original tremolo bar in excellent condition and fully working. As you can see, Original black tolex case with some honest wear considering its age, although with the handle and all the latches working.
It will be professionally packed, shipped & insured to continental US only. Free local pickup in LA is also welcome. I can send more photos upon request.
